(Now, I'm not up on whatever bug was just discussed and fixed, so I vote
with the proviso that this was fixed to others' satisfaction:) +1 in that the release downloads, passes checksum, decompresses, builds, passes tests, and includes everything I'd expect to see. I have released the artifacts in nexus and copied the files at http://www.apache.org/dist/mahout/0.7/.
I need some help for the news items. Till now we have gathered these : Outlier removal capability implemented in K-Means, Fuzzy K, Canopy and Dirichlet Clustering. New Clustering implementation for K-Means, Fuzzy K, Canopy and Dirichlet using Cluster Classifiers. Many small fixes and improvements. Would someone like to add more? I think we've cleaned up (C)NB quite a bit.
We should probably also mention that we axed a fair amount of code (watchmaker is dropped, old naive bayes) and that we consolidated collections and math. I made you an administrator. I also Closed (and updated the markings on)
the 67 resolved issues. It's a crude metric, but, the last release resolved about 120 items, and started 0.7 with about 40 open issues. There are 91 right now. This tells me again that there's a stronger mismatch between the amount and type of things people think should be done in the project, and what is being done. Again my suggested fix is -- you just have to close a lot of these as WontFix.
