RE: [JENKINS] Lucene-Solr-4.x-Windows-Java6-64 - Build # 427 - Failure!Uwe Schindler 2012-07-25, 13:09
Hallo,
I killed that one after 14 hours. It was stuck in one benchmark test. But interestingly it did not wait for locks, but used 100% CPU on both cores. Attached is the stack trace, looks quite normal, only that lucene3x codec was used to run this benchmark. What's wrong? Interesting ... this failure is with Oracle's JVM right? (1.7.0_05)
On Zing this test fails quite easily, but only when run w/ all other tests, not by itself even w/ beasting ... I haven't yet figured out why. I've never seen this fail with Oracle 1.7.0_04 ... I'll install 1.7.0_05 and try. Mike McCandless http://blog.mikemccandless.com On Sun, Aug 12, 2012 at 11:13 AM, Uwe Schindler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > This is strange. It does not happen on Linux, so this is caused by some windows-don’t-delete-if-not-closed semantics?

Actually I think the test is fundamentally broken?
// Re-open the stream and this time use a reader Yet the URL is http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/lucene/dev/trunk/ So if someone makes an svn commit while this test is running, it will fail? Have seen. Maybe we use a URL that’s unlikely to change? Maybe the lucene.apache.org homepage? We could also simply use a file-based URL: file://. We can create a temp file and pass it as URL using File.toURI().toAsciiString(). We don't rely on HTTP here, it can be any protocol, right?

That is what I suggested! We create a temp file and use File.toURI().toAsciiString() to convert it to an URL (same trick like we did in build.xml for the javadocs). The we have full control over the contents and don’t need to rely on stream encoding and stream contents.

RE: [JENKINS] Lucene-Solr-4.x-Windows (32bit/jdk1.6.0_33) - Build # 285 - Failure!Uwe Schindler 2012-08-16, 22:01
I fixed this!
Sorry my first commit used Lucene Core in SolrJ, I fixed this in a second commit! ContentStreamBase.FileStream had also a bug that one file was not closed on getContextType(), this caused the use of Lucene's IOUtils. ----- Uwe Schindler H.-H.-Meier-Allee 63, D-28213 Bremen http://www.thetaphi.de eMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -----Original Message----- > From: Uwe Schindler [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2012 11:26 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [JENKINS] Lucene-Solr-4.x-Windows (32bit/jdk1.6.0_33) - Build # > 285 - Failure! > > I will look into it :-) > > Patch will come later! > > ----- > Uwe Schindler > H.-H.-Meier-Allee 63, D-28213 Bremen > http://www.thetaphi.de > eMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Robert Muir [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2012 10:49 PM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Re: [JENKINS] Lucene-Solr-4.x-Windows (32bit/jdk1.6.0_33) - > > Build # > > 285 - Failure! > > > > Yes, I was just saying +1 > > > > I am afraid to do this myself, for fear that I might break your svn > > checkout that contains a space :) > > > > On Thu, Aug 16, 2012 at 4:46 PM, Uwe Schindler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > That is what I suggested! I updated rr to 2.0.0 but it's only at sonatype repositories for now
which seem to be flaky. The JARs should be at repo1 (maven central) within an hour. If the download breaks for you, try ant clean resolve again and again and hammer the crap out of sonatype... Dawid ---------------------------------------------------------------------

This prevents people from using alternate workflows (not using svn but git-svn for example). Can we not check svn properties but the contents instead? I know svn but I'd rather not use it. Dawid ---------------------------------------------------------------------

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2127429/can-i-make-git-svn-handle-svneol-style
Seems to be doable, I'll take a look. It should be an svn commit hook though, not a build time check? D. We cannot do this at apache, because the SVN is shared for all projects with different requirements, so we use a check in the builds. This check also helps to find files you missed to svn add and such stuff.
You can check your own working copy with: trunk $> ant check-svn-working-copy This will report files without props, files that are not yet added (unversioned ones) and similar stuff. ----- Uwe Schindler H.-H.-Meier-Allee 63, D-28213 Bremen http://www.thetaphi.de eMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of > Dawid Weiss > Sent: Wednesday, September 05, 2012 2:25 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [JENKINS] Lucene-Solr-4.x-Windows (32bit/jdk1.6.0_35) - Build # > 624 - Still Failing! > > http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2127429/can-i-make-git-svn-handle- > svneol-style > > Seems to be doable, I'll take a look. Like I said, everybody has a different workflow. The above is part of git so there's no need for this extra stuff. That's fine, I'll set those properties mentioned on stackoverflow. Hmmm, I just checked in a new method on this test. It didn't fail for
me but perhaps there's something that can mess up a test method that follows it (depending on the ordering).
